Ready to talk to someone about your faith journey?
Prayer is simply talking to God. You don't need special words or a certain place — you just need to be honest.
The apostle Paul encourages us to pray about everything. When we pray we align ourselves with God and invite his guidance into our lives. Jesus himself modelled prayer throughout his life — he prayed alone, he prayed with others, and he prayed for people around him.
A great place to start is the Lord's Prayer, found in Matthew 6:9-14. Jesus taught this as an example of how we can pray — starting by acknowledging who God is, asking for his will in our lives, asking for forgiveness, and bringing our needs to him.
You don't need to have it all figured out. Just start talking.
The Bible is 66 books written by 40 authors over 1500 years — and it holds together without contradiction. It includes stories, teachings, poems, laws and prophecies, but more than anything it's a way to hear from God, learn about his love, and understand how to live.
It's split into two main sections. The Old Testament tells the story of God's relationship with humanity from creation onwards. The New Testament is all about Jesus — his life, death and resurrection — and the letters written by early church leaders to help believers live out their faith.
A good place to start is the Gospel of John. It tells the story of Jesus clearly and is written so that you might believe. Try reading a few verses each day and see what stands out to you.
You've made the best decision of your life — and the people around you might need to hear about it.
Sharing your faith doesn't have to be complicated. It starts with simply telling someone what happened to you and why it matters. You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to be willing to share your story.
Think of one person in your life who you could tell about your decision. It might feel awkward but it's worth it — and you never know how it might impact them.
Following Jesus was never meant to be done alone. The Bible describes the church not as a building but as a community of believers who support each other, and grow in faith together.
Finding a local church is one of the most important next steps you can take. Look for somewhere that teaches the Bible, welcomes you as you are, and helps you grow.
If you already have a church, make it a priority to keep showing up and chat to one of your leaders about your journey. If you don't, why not ask whoever shared faith with you or speak to a local Christian you trust about local churches that may be a good fit for you. You were made for community. Don't do this alone.

Being baptised doesn't save you, your decision to follow Jesus does that. But baptism is the celebration of that decision, a moment to declare publicly that your life belongs to God.
